How a child spends the day
Every room follows its own rhythm. This is the shape of the day.
Step 1: Arrival
A teacher meets you at the room door. You tell us how the night and the morning went, in Spanish or English, and your child settles in with a song or a familiar toy.
Step 2: Play
Floor play, blocks, scarves and songs. Babies spend time on a mat; toddlers and twos move between the play kitchen, the art table and the book basket.
Step 3: Meals
Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack come from our kitchen. Families of babies tell us how and when each baby eats, and we follow it.
Step 4: Rest
Babies sleep when they need to, on their backs in their own cribs with nothing else in the crib. Toddlers and twos rest on cots after lunch.
Step 5: Outdoors
The fenced yard and the garden, on every day the weather allows. We dress for the weather and stay close.
Step 6: Pickup
A teacher tells you how the day went. We hand your child only to the people on your pickup list.
In the rooms and the yard

At the cubbies
Coats, bags and a change of clothes live in your child's cubby, within reach of small hands.

At the snack table
Small chairs, small cups and a teacher at the table. Toddlers and twos eat together, and babies eat in the teacher's arms or in a seat.

In the yard
A sandbox, a low slide and a garden bed. A teacher is always beside the children.
