Your first week

Your first week, day by day

Before your child's first morning we walk through the week with you, in English and in Spanish, so nothing is a surprise.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Before day one

Come for a visit with your child and meet the teacher in your child's room. Tell us how your child eats, sleeps and likes to be held, in the language you prefer, and we write it down.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Day one

A short morning. You stay for the first hour and say goodbye when your child is settled. At midday we message you to say how it went.

  3. 03

Step 3: Days two and three

Your child stays a little longer and naps in the room's own cot or crib. At pickup the teacher tells you how the day went, in Spanish or English.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Day four

A full morning with lunch. If your child is ready, we move toward the schedule you chose.

  5. 05

Step 5: The end of the week

Sit down with the teacher for ten minutes: what worked, what to change and what to bring next week.

Families' questions

What ages do you take?

From 6 weeks to 3 years, in three rooms: infants, toddlers and twos. The program table shows which schedules each room offers.

Do your teachers speak Spanish?

Yes. Miroslava and Yuliana speak Spanish and English with every family, and every page of this site is also in Spanish. Yolonda speaks English and sings in Spanish with the children. Ask us who will be in your child's room.

Can we tour before we decide?

Yes. Book a tour and come with your child, and with grandparents if you like. It takes about half an hour, and you can ask anything, in Spanish or English.

What does it mean that Peekaboo is licensed?

That NCDHHS DCDEE, North Carolina's child care agency, licenses the center to care for children from 6 weeks to 3 years. The license number is at the bottom of every page, and you can ask to see the license at any tour.

How does tuition work?

It depends on your child's room, the schedule and the days a week. Miroslava gives you the figures in writing at the tour. Read how it works on the Tuition page.

Do you share photos of my child?

Only with your written permission, and you can change your answer at any time. The Family policies page has our full answer.
